Climate Change and Our Forests

Convened by Gwyn Myer, the Collaborativeʼs Project Coordinator, and Ken Wearstler, Silviculturist and Climate Adaptation Coordinator for the Rogue-River Siskiyou National Forest, this project is part of the Climate Solutions University (CSU) Climate Adaptation Planning and Implementation Program. Aimed at informing future forest planning and fulfilling agency adaptation planning requirements, this project has engaged a broad spectrum of regional natural resource and economic interests, The result is a localized, actionable climate adaptation plan that the community can support and implement in the coming years. The outcome will be a community that has strengthened capacity to be resilient to the inevitable impacts of climate change; a community with awareness, shared vision, and partnerships enabling it to withstand the impacts of climate change upon the natural resources, economy, and community.
